What is fitness planning and why do we do it?
Regular exercise is one of the cornerstones to losing weight. It allows us to burn extra calories, improve our cardiovascular health and it helps us feel better about ourselves too. By exercising regularly during treatment, we can help to create a habit that lasts a lifetime.
We take every step to make sure we create a fitness plan that fits with your lifestyle. Our aim is to make sure every one of our patients is successful in losing weight and keeping it off, so we aim to tailor your fitness goals to suit you. We do this in two ways:
1. Basal Metabolic Rate calculation
The basal metabolic rate is a rough guide to how many calories it takes to sustain your bodyweight. We calculate this for you to give you a rough idea of how many calories you should consume in order to lose a sufficient amount of weight.
2. Exercise planning
From your basal metabolic rate, we will work with you to create an exercise plan that you can realistically complete in order to ensure the weight you lose stays off.
